Our Story

Saltwood is owned and led by brothers Cameron and Liam Dart. We build custom homes across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, with a hands-on approach to the design, decisions and day-to-day details of each project.

Cameron brings experience in residential and commercial construction and an interest in solving the challenges of difficult blocks. Liam brings an accounting and HR background within the building industry. Together, they combine practical building knowledge with careful attention to budgets and communication.

That's not a small detail — it's part of why the business works the way it does. There's no head office, no layers of management between you and the people making decisions. When something needs sorting, you're talking to one of the people whose name is actually on the business.

Cameron has spent nearly 20 years building across both residential and commercial projects around Australia. He's a natural problem solver, and genuinely enjoys the challenge of a difficult block — the kind of site other builders might steer clients away from. Liam's background is in accounting and HR within the building industry, which means he's spent years looking at the numbers side of construction from the inside, seeing exactly where inefficiencies compound, where communication breaks down, and where clients end up paying for things nobody properly explained to them.

Between the two of them, they kept seeing the same gap: builders who were either genuinely skilled but difficult to deal with, or easy to talk to but light on the financial honesty that actually protects a client. Saltwood exists to close that gap — a builder clients can trust with the build and the numbers, whether they're creating a home that genuinely suits how they live, or building an investment property they can feel confident about long after settlement.

A Personal Build Experience

We only take on a set number of builds each year. That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation.

We plan our workload so Cameron and Liam can stay closely involved in each build. You’ll know who to contact, and you’ll be speaking with people who understand your project and the decisions behind it.

It's also why we end up building more than once for the same clients — a first home, then an investment property, then eventually the custom home they've been planning for years. That kind of relationship only works if we actually know you. Keeping our books smaller is how we make sure of that.
