At Saltwood Homes, we want you to enjoy your home with confidence. The first 12 months after your home is handed over is an important time — it allows your new home to settle naturally through all seasons, and occasionally, minor, non-structural issues may appear.

How we Handle it

We’ll be in touch as you approach the 12-month mark to arrange a convenient onsite inspection. For minor, non-structural issues, we ask that you wait until this inspection unless something is significantly affecting your day-to-day life. This way, we can efficiently address all minor matters in one visit, keeping things simple for you.

What’s Covered

During this period, we cover defects in workmanship and materials.

What’s not Covered

Normal wear and tear, damage caused by the homeowner, or issues resulting from lack of maintenance aren’t included.

Your home has a 7 year structural warranty period. This covers major structural issues that could affect the safety, stability, or habitability of your home.

What Counts as a Structural Issue?

Structural issues are problems with the key load-bearing elements of your home — including foundations, walls, roof, or frame — that compromise its safety or make it uninhabitable.
